Project Objective

"The Sails of Saint-Tropez" is part of the collection The Picturesque Ports of the Mediterranean, dedicated to the iconic places of the coastline. A true symbol of the Côte d'Azur, Saint-Tropez is presented in all its richness: its mythical port, its bustling history, and the men and women who have shaped its soul. This film offers a rare insight into the life of a place that is both legendary and profoundly human, between maritime tradition and the art of living.

Cinematography & Techniques

Filmed with the Sony FX3, stabilized on a Ronin DJI RS PRO 3 and accompanied by Sony GM optics (12-24 mm, 24-70 mm, 70-200 mm f/2.8), the film blends documentary precision with cinematic aesthetics. The drone aerial shots taken with the DJI Mini Pro 3 capture the majesty of the port, the dance of the sailboats, and the golden light of the gulf. The care given to composition and colorimetry gives each shot a vibrant and poetic dimension.

Storytelling

The narrative immerses the viewer in the daily life of the port: the sailors, artisans, local figures, and sea enthusiasts who perpetuate an ancestral know-how. The testimonies — sometimes the last of a generation that has now vanished — give the film a unique heritage value. The alternation between contemplative scenes and action images creates a balance between memory and movement, between emotion and immersion.

Final Result

"The Sails of Saint-Tropez" is much more than a simple episode: it is a vibrant testimony to an exceptional maritime and human heritage. This film preserves voices and faces that are now absent, offering a precious legacy to future generations. A work that celebrates the timeless beauty of the port and the passion of those who keep its soul alive.
